Brothers Lance and Scott Sage of Hobby Tractors held a grand opening Saturday at their new location in Roosevelt, located across from Ioka Lane on HWY 40.
When asked why they chose the area, their response was simple. “Customers. People said why don’t you move out to Roosevelt and open a store there, so we listened to them,” Lance said.
Their original store is in Pleasant Grove, which they’ve owned and operated for 43 years. That kind of experience ensures their new store will hit the ground running.
The new location took several months to clean up, the property had sat vacant for several years. Once it was cleaned up and the new office brought in, it was time for the grand unveiling.
The grand opening event featured raffle drawings for some amazing prizes and the food was provided by Hobby Tractor Eats, a new venture the brothers will be opening next summer, once the weather warms up. The hamburgers, hot dogs, and their special whiskey dogs were crowd pleasers, summer can’t come soon enough.
Hobby Tractor sells tractors from 20 horsepower up to 130 horsepower, along with different implements like hay equipment, tillers, post hole diggers, box scrapers to name a few. They also sell lawn mowers and trailers and have a parts and service department, and stuff for the hobby do-it-yourselfer, you name it, they carry a large inventory of different name brands. They also sell Montana Sheds at their location. Montana sheds carry a 10-year warranty.
“We’re excited to meet the Basin people. We’re just excited to be out here, we really are,” said Lance.
Their goal is to provide the best equipment and the best customer service in the Uintah Basin. Hobby Tractors can be reached at 435-352-6000 or visit their website at www.hobbytractors.com.
